VIETNAMESE CALENDAR

Year Nham Tuat,the Year of the Dog,corresponding to the year 2879 BC of the Gregorian calendar,was the year of the dynasty of Hong Bang,in which the country of Vietnam was founded.
The Vietnamese calendar is based on 10-year cycles called can,and 12-year cycles called chi.Each cycle consist of 60 years .If you was born in the year Canh Dan,or 1950,60 years later,in 2010,the year Canh Dan will come again.

The 10-year of can are:

  1. Giap: water in nature
  2. At : water in the house
  3. Binh: lighted fire
  4. Dinh: latent fire
